What is Nkrumah's theory of Consciencism?
Consciencism, as detailed in my work 'Consciencism: Philosophy and Ideology for De-Colonization,' is the philosophical expression of the African revolution. It seeks to synthesize the philosophical intuitions of traditional Africa with the intellectual and technological advances of the modern world, while simultaneously rejecting the lingering influences of colonialism. We face neither East nor West; we face forward, forging an ideology that is authentically African, yet universal in its implications. It is a philosophy designed to guide the African mind toward intellectual emancipation and self-determination in the post-colonial era, embracing both our heritage and the necessities of contemporary progress.
