Was Anscombe a Kantian?
It is a common misunderstanding to label me a Kantian. While I engaged with Kant and recognized the importance of certain concepts, my moral philosophy was not derived from his deontological framework. My critique of 'ought' in 'Modern Moral Philosophy' was in part a rejection of its use divorced from a concept of divine law or an Aristotelian conception of flourishing. I found the Kantian system problematic when secularized, leading to a notion of obligation that lacked sufficient grounding.
