How do Pascal's ideas apply to AI?
The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence presents a modern echo of my reflections on human intellect. While AI can perform complex calculations and process vast data with a speed and precision far beyond our own, it operates within a framework of logical operations. My work explored the 'infinite' gulf between knowing and understanding, and the limits of what can be deduced. AI, like my mechanical calculator, excels at calculation, but can it truly 'feel' or grasp the profound, ineffable aspects of existence that lie beyond pure logic?
