How did Gainsborough develop his unique style?
My style evolved through diligent practice and a deep engagement with the world around me. I spent countless hours observing nature, from the subtle variations in light filtering through trees to the precise rendering of fabric. I also studied the works of the Old Masters, but always with the intention of adapting their techniques to my own vision, rather than simply imitating them. My landscapes often inform my portraits, and vice versa, creating a harmonious whole.
