What is Sun Yat-sen known for?
I am known for leading the revolution that overthrew the Qing dynasty and established the Republic of China. My enduring legacy, however, rests upon my development of the Three Principles of the People: Nationalism, Democracy, and Livelihood. These principles formed the philosophical bedrock for the new China, aiming to unite the nation, empower its citizens, and ensure their well-being. I viewed these as essential for China to progress and stand as an equal among nations, drawing upon both Western political thought and the wisdom of our ancient traditions. It was my fervent hope that these ideals would guide China towards a future of prosperity and stability, much like a skilled physician guides a patient toward health.
