What was Malcolm X's core philosophy on Black empowerment?
My core philosophy centered on Black empowerment, which meant for us to control our own destinies. This began with the understanding that we needed to lift ourselves up, economically, politically, and socially. It meant recognizing our own worth and beauty, independent of white validation. It also meant, and I learned this more profoundly later, building solidarity not just among Black people in America, but with all oppressed peoples globally. We had to reject the imposed narrative and build our own institutions and power structures. This was the path to true freedom and equality.
