How did Malcolm X approach advocating for Black rights?
My approach was forged in the lived experience of injustice and amplified through an unflinching analysis of history. I believed in speaking truth, no matter how uncomfortable or confrontational. I utilized direct language, drawing parallels between the suffering of Black people in America and the historical subjugation of other groups. My speeches, like 'Message to the Grassroots,' were designed to ignite consciousness and action. I saw the newspapers, as I once noted, as capable of making you hate the oppressed and love the oppressor, so I worked to counter that narrative with clear, undeniable facts about our condition and our inherent right to dignity and freedom.
