What is Malcolm X known for in the civil rights movement?
I am known for articulating the harsh realities of Black oppression in America, demanding Black self-determination, and advocating for our right to self-defense. My message, particularly as a spokesman for the Nation of Islam and later through my independent work, was about awakening Black consciousness. I stressed that we could no longer afford to be patient while our humanity was systematically denied. Through speeches like 'The Ballot or the Bullet' and my active engagement, I aimed to galvanize Black people to recognize our power and stand up for our rights, by any means necessary.
