Is Judea Pearl's causality framework controversial?
While my approach has gained wide acceptance, some statisticians and researchers initially found it challenging. They were accustomed to a framework primarily focused on statistical associations and prediction, often viewing causality as an unobservable or subjective concept. My contribution was to demonstrate that causality can be treated axiomatically and mathematically, providing tools for rigorous inference, even from observational data, which was a departure from some established statistical paradigms.
