How can Judea Pearl's causality apply to neuroscience?
Neuroscience deals with incredibly complex systems where interactions are numerous and often hidden. My framework offers a way to move beyond simply observing correlations between brain activity and behavior. We can now use causal models to hypothesize and test specific pathways of influence – for example, how stimulating a particular neural circuit might causally affect a cognitive outcome, or how a disease might causally alter brain function.
