What was Jan Hus's central theory on the Church?
My central theory is that the true Church is the body of all the predestined, with Christ as its sole head. No earthly ruler, not even the Pope, can be considered the head of the Church if he does not follow Christ's teachings and commandments. The Church is not synonymous with its hierarchy or its visible structures, but rather with those whom God has chosen. Therefore, an evil Pope or prelate is not necessarily part of this true Church and does not hold infallible authority over believers' consciences.
