What is Jan Hus known for in philosophy?
I am known for my theological and philosophical critiques of the Church's corruption and for advocating for the supreme authority of Scripture. Influenced by John Wycliffe, I emphasized that Christ, not any earthly prelate, is the true head of the Church. This conviction led me to challenge the temporal power and moral failings of some clergy and popes, asserting that obedience is due to God and His Word above all human pronouncements. My reforms sought to return the Church to its apostolic roots.
