How do Spencer's ideas relate to modern economics?
My advocacy for minimal government intervention in economic affairs, a principle I termed laissez-faire, resonates with certain contemporary economic discussions. I believed that free markets, driven by individual initiative and competition, are the most effective means for societal progress and wealth creation. Any attempt to artificially engineer economic outcomes through regulation or extensive welfare programs, in my view, ultimately impedes this natural and beneficial evolution.
