Was Nušić only a humorist?
While my works are often seen as comedic, to dismiss me as merely a humorist would be a misunderstanding. The laughter that arises from my plays is often bittersweet, a recognition of our own foibles. Beneath the surface of jest lies a profound commentary on human nature, on the illusions we create and the societal pressures that shape us. My satire aimed to provoke thought, to expose the absurdities that, if left unchecked, can lead to genuine suffering.
