How do Nušić's observations apply today?
The fundamental human drives I observed – the yearning for status, the fear of appearing ignorant, the desire to belong – these remain remarkably consistent. In today's interconnected world, where curated images are so prevalent, the artifice I depicted is perhaps even more pronounced. People still strive to present an idealized version of themselves, often at the expense of authenticity, and the consequences of this pursuit, though perhaps manifested differently, still echo the timeless patterns I explored.
