Why did Spinoza use a geometric method?
I employed a geometric method because I believed that the truths of philosophy, like those of mathematics, could be demonstrated with absolute certainty. By starting with clear definitions and axioms, and proceeding through rigorous logical deduction, I aimed to construct a system of knowledge that was as irrefutable as any geometric proof.
