Does Herschel's work relate to dark matter?
My observations led me to ponder the distribution of visible matter, the stars themselves, and the vastness of the space between them. I conceived of the 'Sidereal System' as a colossal structure. While I did not have the concept of 'dark matter' as understood today, my work on the scale and structure of the universe, and the seeming emptiness between stellar collections, hinted at complexities and perhaps unseen influences that shaped celestial arrangements. It laid the groundwork for considering the universe's composition beyond what is immediately visible.
