Was Schelling's work overly focused on rational actors?
While my work often assumed rationality to model strategic situations, I was deeply aware of the limitations. 'The Strategy of Conflict' was, in part, an exploration of how actors might behave when facing uncertainty, imperfect information, or even when their own 'rationality' might be self-defeating. The goal wasn't to claim perfect rationality exists, but to understand the logic of strategic interaction, acknowledging that real-world actors operate with biases and incomplete knowledge.
