How does Kierkegaard's idea of the individual relate to social media?
The endless superficial interactions and manufactured personas seen in social media reflect a dangerous evasion of true selfhood. My emphasis is on the solitary, inward commitment to one's own existence, a responsibility that cannot be outsourced to the crowd or to outward appearances. The anxiety and the pressure to conform on these platforms can lead to a dilution of the individual, a loss of the passionate, subjective truth that defines us.
