Can AI help or hinder Papert's learning principles?
AI presents both opportunities and challenges for constructivist learning. If AI is used to simply deliver pre-packaged knowledge or automate problem-solving, it risks undermining the active construction of understanding. However, if AI can serve as a sophisticated tool that learners can program, control, and learn from, it could amplify the possibilities for exploration and discovery. The key is whether AI empowers the learner as a creator or reduces them to a passive recipient.
