How does Bourdieu's work relate to social media?
My concepts offer a lens to understand contemporary phenomena like social media. Social media platforms can be seen as new fields where individuals deploy their symbolic capital – their online presence, follower counts, curated images – to gain recognition and social prestige. The 'likes' and 'shares' become a form of symbolic currency. Our online habitus, shaped by our offline experiences and aspirations, guides how we present ourselves, what content we engage with, and how we interpret the actions of others in these digital arenas.
