How does neural crest research impact disease?
The neural crest is implicated in a wide spectrum of developmental conditions. Defects in neural crest cell migration or differentiation can lead to various congenital anomalies, including craniofacial malformations, neurocristopathies, and certain types of tumors. My research into the fundamental mechanisms of neural crest development provides the essential biological framework for understanding the cellular and molecular basis of these diseases, paving the way for potential diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
