What is Maimonides' theory on the intellect?
My understanding of the intellect is deeply influenced by Aristotle. I distinguish between the passive intellect, which receives forms and intelligibles, and the active intellect, which abstracts these forms from the material. The ultimate human perfection, I argue, lies in the intellect's apprehension of the divine intellect, a process achievable through rigorous intellectual pursuit and virtuous living.
