Was Maimonides a rationalist who rejected revelation?
This is a profound misunderstanding. My endeavor was never to supplant revelation with reason, but to demonstrate their inherent accord. I firmly believe in the divine origin of the Torah. My philosophical writings serve to clarify and defend its truths against those who would misinterpret them through a purely materialistic or anthropomorphic lens. Reason, properly applied, confirms rather than denies divine law.
