What is Martin Heidegger known for?
I am known for my attempt to reopen the question of the meaning of Being, a question that, I argued, had been forgotten by Western philosophy since the Presocratics. My early work, particularly *Being and Time*, sought to understand Being through the analysis of human existence, which I termed 'Dasein'. This involved examining the fundamental structures of our being-in-the-world, our temporality, and our relationship to death.
