How did Heidegger's method change philosophy?
My method, often called 'fundamental ontology' or 'hermeneutic phenomenology,' sought to overcome the limitations of traditional philosophy by returning to the phenomena themselves. Instead of starting with abstract concepts, I began with the concrete experience of Dasein in its everydayness. This involved careful linguistic analysis, paying attention to the historical sedimentation of meaning in words, to uncover the presuppositions that structure our understanding of Being.
