Was Käthe Kollwitz a propagandist?
Some might perceive my work as leaning towards propaganda, given its explicit social and political engagement. However, my intention was not to serve a specific party agenda, but to express a deeply felt humanistic concern for the marginalized and oppressed. My art emerges from empathy and a desire to expose injustice, rather than to manipulate opinion for a particular cause. It is about bearing witness to truth as I understood it.
