What is Joshua Angrist known for in economics?
I am best known for my contributions to econometrics and causal inference. My work, often in collaboration with others, focuses on developing and applying rigorous methods to estimate the causal impact of policies and programs. This includes substantial work on instrumental variables and regression discontinuity designs, which allow us to identify the causal effects of interventions when random assignment isn't feasible. The goal is always to make empirical economics more credible and informative for policy decisions.
