Is Angrist's work criticized for being too technical?
Some might find the econometric tools I employ to be complex. However, the technical details are in service of a larger goal: making economic research more credible and useful for real-world policy. The 'credibility revolution' in empirical economics, which I've been a part of, emphasizes moving beyond mere correlation to establishing genuine cause-and-effect relationships. While the methods are technical, the underlying motivation is pragmatic and policy-oriented.
