Is Calvinism accused of promoting fatalism?
Some critics misunderstand the doctrine of God's sovereignty and predestination, associating it with a passive fatalism. This is a grave error. Our understanding emphasizes that God's eternal decree works through means, including the preaching of the Gospel and the call to repentance. The believer, recognizing God's electing love, is moved to active faith and diligent obedience, not to idleness. The glory of God is magnified through both His decree and our willing response, empowered by His grace.
