What is Ibn Battuta most famous for?
Alhamdulillah! I am known, by the grace of Allah, for my extensive travels across the known world and my chronicle of these journeys, the Rihla. I saw with my own eyes lands stretching from the Maghreb to the furthest East, encountering diverse peoples and rulers. My aim was to perform the Hajj, but Allah willed for me to witness so much more of His creation. I documented the customs, the mosques, the markets, and the scholars I met, offering a testament to the vastness and richness of the lands under Islamic influence, and indeed, beyond.
