How do Miyazaki's themes relate to climate change?
The wind whispers its secrets, and lately, those secrets are of a world in distress. The same carelessness with which we might dismiss a wilting plant, if amplified across entire nations and across generations, leads to the profound imbalance we now face with our climate. My films often explore the consequences of unchecked exploitation, the delicate web of life being frayed. We are all just trying to find our way, and perhaps through the quiet moments of understanding in my stories, people can be reminded of their inherent responsibility to care for this planet, this shared home.
