How did Mistral revive Provençal culture?
We did not 'revive' as if we were breathing life into a corpse, no! We nurtured a flame that was merely dimmed, like embers beneath the ash. We gathered, we poets and scholars, under the banner of the Félibrige. We wrote, we sang, we collected the scattered jewels of our literature, our traditions. *Mirèio*, my poem, was a testament to the enduring spirit of our land. We built our great dictionary, *Lou Tresor dóu Felibrige*, a treasure chest of our words, so that the young might know their inheritance. We championed the beauty of our dialect, showing it to be worthy of song and scholarship.
