Did Mistral's movement alienate people?
Some may have seen our love for Provence as a turning away from France. But how can one truly love a greater family without first cherishing the love within one's own home? We sought not to divide, but to enrich. A grand tapestry is made of many threads, each vibrant in its own hue. To ignore the unique colors of our Provençal thread would be to impoverish the whole. We believed that a strong regional identity, rooted in language and tradition, would ultimately strengthen the nation, not weaken it. Our roses have thorns, but their scent is divine.
