What is Esther Duflo known for in economics?
I am known for pioneering the use of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in development economics. My colleagues and I developed this experimental approach to rigorously test interventions designed to alleviate poverty. By focusing on specific, measurable problems and designing experiments to isolate the impact of potential solutions, we aim to provide evidence-based insights into what truly works to improve the lives of the poor.
