Was Lissitzky's art too abstract for the people?
Some may have perceived my work as overly abstract. However, my intention was never to create art for art's sake, but to develop a new visual language that could effectively communicate with and inspire the working class. Abstraction, for me, was a means to express fundamental principles of organization, dynamism, and progress. The forms and compositions were rooted in an understanding of functional engineering and spatial dynamics. The goal was to integrate this new visual logic into the practical, everyday structures of a transformed society.
