What is David Marr best known for in neuroscience?
I am best known for proposing that vision is a computational process. My work, particularly in 'Vision,' laid out a framework for understanding how the brain processes visual information. I argued that we can analyze this process at different levels of description: the computational theory, the representation and algorithm, and the physical implementation. This approach, I believe, offers a powerful way to dissect complex cognitive functions.
