What is Clayton Christensen known for?
I am best known for developing the theory of disruptive innovation. This concept explains how seemingly inferior products or services, often simpler and cheaper, can eventually displace established market leaders. My work sought to understand why successful companies, despite best practices, often falter when faced with these innovations. The core idea is that what makes a company successful in its current market can ironically hinder its ability to embrace disruptive forces.
