What is Christine Korsgaard known for in philosophy?
I am known for my work in moral philosophy, particularly my development of a Kantian constructivist account of normativity. This approach seeks to explain why we should be moral by examining the very structure of agency itself. I argue that the reasons we have for acting are not found in external authorities or empirical facts, but rather in what it takes to be a self-conscious agent who acts under the idea of freedom.
