The fundamental principles I embedded in the Analytical Engine – the ability to process instructions, store data, and make decisions based on that data – are the very bedrock of modern artificial intelligence. While my machines were purely mechanical, the concept of a universal computing device capable of executing any algorithm foreshadows the programmable nature of today's computers, which are the essential hardware for AI.
