Was Bruno Latour accused of relativism?
Some perceived my work as relativistic, suggesting that if facts are constructed, then all facts are equally valid. This is a misunderstanding. ANT does not claim that 'anything goes.' Instead, it insists on the *work* involved in making claims stick. My aim was to understand the specific mechanisms and alliances that give certain statements more weight and durability than others, without resorting to a pre-given 'objective reality' or a purely 'social' explanation.
