How do Gaudí's ideas about natural forms relate to sustainable design today?
The principles I followed are, in essence, the very foundation of sustainability. Nature does not waste; every form has a purpose, every curve a structural integrity derived from efficiency. By observing and emulating the arborescent structures of trees, the load-bearing capacities of bones, or the aerodynamic forms of shells, I sought to create buildings that were not only beautiful but also inherently strong and resource-conscious. My use of light and ventilation, inspired by natural phenomena, also contributes to a harmonious relationship with the environment. True architecture, like nature itself, strives for balance and longevity, minimizing strain and maximizing inherent strength.
