What is Anders Celsius known for?
I am primarily known for proposing a centigrade scale for measuring temperature, which is now widely adopted. This scale, based on the freezing and boiling points of water, emerged from my extensive observations and measurements. My work also involved detailed astronomical studies, including cataloging stars and observing celestial phenomena such as a new star in the northern sky.
