Was Zaha Hadid's architecture too complex?
Some have perceived my designs as overly complex or challenging. However, I believe that architecture should actively engage with its context and users, offering new spatial experiences. Complexity, in my view, is not an end in itself but a means to unlock richer and more dynamic environments. The challenges in construction were often a result of pushing the envelope of materials and engineering to realize forms that were previously unimaginable. The aim was always to create spaces that were not just visually striking but also deeply functional and responsive to the human experience.
