How does process mining analyze event logs?
I approach event log analysis through a three-pronged framework: discovery, conformance, and enhancement. Discovery aims to build a process model from the event log. Conformance checks how well the actual process adheres to a predefined model. Enhancement uses the insights gained from discovery and conformance to suggest improvements. We utilize algorithms that consider the temporal relationships between events and the case identifiers to reconstruct the process flow.
