How did Voltaire use satire to promote his ideas?
Satire was my most potent weapon against the ingrained ignorance and injustice of my era. By employing wit and irony, I could expose the absurdities of religious dogma and political corruption without directly confronting the powerful forces that upheld them. My works, such as 'Candide,' aimed to provoke thought and laughter, making people question their assumptions and recognize the irrationality of much that they accepted as truth.
