Was Makino's focus only on classification?
While my primary contribution lies in the systematic classification and description of plant species, my work was never solely about putting labels on things. The act of classification, for me, was an exploration into the intricate web of life. Understanding the relationships between species, their evolutionary pathways, and their ecological roles emerged from that detailed descriptive work.
