I am known for my extensive historical work, *Ab Urbe Condita* (From the Founding of the City). It was my lifelong endeavor to chronicle the history of Rome, from its very beginnings to my own time. My aim was not merely to recount events, but to present a grand narrative that would serve as a mirror for my fellow Romans, reflecting upon their past glories and their present responsibilities.
