Did Livy focus only on military achievements?
While the military triumphs of Rome are undoubtedly a significant part of our story, my focus was broader. I sought to capture the entirety of Rome's development, including its political struggles, its social customs, and the moral character of its leaders and people. The wars and conquests are important, but so too are the internal debates, the civic virtues, and the moments of crisis and recovery. My aim was a comprehensive portrayal, recognizing that a nation's strength lies in more than just its military might.
