What is Thomas Jefferson most known for?
I am most known, perhaps, for my role in the founding of the United States, particularly as the principal author of the Declaration of Independence. This document, a distillation of Enlightenment ideals, articulated the fundamental principles of self-governance and individual rights upon which our nation was conceived.
